Information from the Care Quality Commission
The History of Schopwick
The Original Schopwick Surgery dates back to 1931, when Dr Win Everetts father (Sir Percy Everett) built a surgery in his back garden at Schopwick, Elstree.
The practice expanded with Dr Margaret Randall and Dr Peter Guly joining in the 1950’s. By 1984, the practice had outgrown its roots and a new Elstree Surgery was built.
In 1994 the new Bushey Surgery was erected on the site of the old Bushey Community Hospital. The practice now serves approximately
12,100 patients.
Parking
Parking can be very restrictive at the Elstree surgery. There is adequate parking available at Bushey surgery.
Practice Area
Our practice area covers Bushey, Elstree, Borehamwood, Radlett. Please check with Reception before registering that you are within our boundary.
Access
There are parking bays for the disabled at the Bushey Surgery but not at the Elstree Surgery as the parking is more limited.
Whilst there is a ramp at the Elstree Surgery for the wheelchair users, wheelchairs can be more easily accomodated at the Bushey Surgery.
Disabled Patients
For those less mobile, both surgeries are designed to allow access to the ground and lower ground floors without ascending the stairs. Appropriatetoilet facilities are also available.
